While some Catholics are familiar with the Brown Scapular associated with Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, a lesser-known devotion, the Green Scapular of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, traces its roots to the 1840s, when the Blessed Mother appeared to a French nun. Local Catholics say the scapular has brought peace, healing and conversion in their lives.
