St. Clare's words:
“Go forth in peace, for you have followed the good road. Go forth without fear, for he who created you has made you holy, has always protected you, and loves you as a mother. Blessed be you, my God, for having created me.”
About the saint: Clara was born in wealth. She heard St. Francis preach and was so moved by him that she left everything to followed him. He placed her in a convent. Eventually she established the Poor Clares who lived a simple life of poverty and seclusion. She emulated and cared for Francis whom she saw as a profound spiritual teacher.
